Everybody Loves Sushi

What if we were to tell you that you could eat Sushi as good and as tasty as the Sushi that is made in Japan, but here in KwaZulu-Natal? Don’t believe us? Come and experience the taste for yourself, because everyone loves sushi! From the smaller take-away stores, to the family seafood restaurants, to the more authentic sushi experience, we have it all!

Popular opinion tells us that Daruma, situated in Umhlanga Rocks at The Pearls, is one of the best restaurants to enjoy a sushi date at. It’s a more lavish restaurant than most Asian eateries, but you will not be disappointed. Did you know that Daruma was first established in 1986 and was the first authentic Japanese restaurant in Africa? Serving the Japanese style of Teppanyaki, and various types of Sushi, Sashimi and Tempura. And before we move on, we definitely need to mention the setting- with views of the Indian Ocean, with a vibey atmosphere all around, who wouldn’t want to eat here?

For a more ‘family-friendly’ experience, KwaZulu-Natal has various branches of the seafood franchises John Dory’s and Ocean Basket. You will find either one of these franchises in most large-scale shopping centers such as The Gateway Theatre of Shopping, The Pavillion Shopping Mall, Ballito Junction or Galleria Mall on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. With a wide variety of seafood on the menu, there is something for everyone, but let’s not get distracted here. Order from a vast range of Sushi and Sashimi. The style of this cuisine can be slightly more commercial, but extremely tasty nonetheless, not to mention highly cost efficient, especially if you’re buying for an entire family.

If you’re looking for more of a take-away vibe, Tommy’s Sushi offers a few branches in the Upper Highway area of Durban. Here you will find authentic Japanese chefs creating Sushi masterpieces and at a great price! There won’t be a type of Sushi that you will not be able to find. It’s the perfect spot to grab a snack on the run, or order in.

You don’t need to travel the world to taste the most exquisite sushi, all you need to do is visit KwaZulu-Natal. With so many different cuisines on offer, why would you want to visit anywhere else?
