If you’re in and around Durban, and you’re not wanting to travel too far out, visit The Cube on Innes Road in Morningside. With an actual big sized 3D cube, covered with images representing things to do in KwaZulu-Natal, it’s quite the unique spot. Not to mention the 180 degree views of Durban, including the world-renowned Moses Mabhida Stadium in front of the backdrop of the Indian Ocean.
Nestled in the valley of a thousand hills, is Bothas Hill. Find the perfect spot where you can take in scenes of the numerous green hills, cliffs and valleys along the banks of the Umgeni River, while it flows all the way between the Indian Ocean and the Drakensberg Mountains. If you head right to the top of Botha’s Hill, you should be able to enjoy views of the Inanda Dam, which is definitely a site for sore eyes.
Up the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, close to Ballito, you can visit Rain Farm Game & Lodge, a wildlife sanctuary which offers three different picnic options for day visitors.
