It’s very easy to see why Mahai Campsite is so popular.
The most obvious reason is its situation right against the mountains of the Northern Drakensburg and its proximity to a well known feature of the area, the Ampitheatre. Second, it’s a great campsite by any standards – facilities are top notch, it’s child-friendly and the almost fully grassed campsite is surrounded by tall tress and bordered on one side by a mountain stream. The result is a well-run and maintained campsite in an exquisite area that offers the more adventurous plenty to do. That’s the third highlight – if you are outdoorsy person and love hiking or mountain biking, you’re in the right place. For most people, the campsite offers the right balance of nature and comfort and it’s exceptionally peaceful.
